Assoc. Prof. Erol AKIN

I was born on June 26, 1964, in Amasya, Turkey. After completing my primary, secondary, and high school education in Berlin, Trabzon, and Amasya respectively, I entered the Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 1982, graduating in 1987.

Following graduation, I joined the Turkish Armed Forces as a Lieutenant Dentist at Eskişehir Military Hospital. In 1993, I began my doctoral studies at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA), Center of Dental Sciences, Department of Orthodontics. I completed my Ph.D. in 1997 with a thesis titled “The Effects of Nitric Oxide on Osteoclast Activity in Experimental Orthodontic Tooth Movements” and continued serving as an orthodontist.

In 2002, I was appointed Assistant Professor, and in December 2006, I received the title of Associate Professor in Orthodontics. After resigning from GATA in 2009, I served at Medicana Dental Hospital and later as a faculty member at Istanbul Aydın University. Currently, I work as a specialized orthodontist in various private clinics.
