1. Your dentist will start the process by numbing the area so you won’t feel pain extensively. At this step injection will be used into the gums and/or roots. Meanwhile, your dentist locates a dental dam in your mouth. In this way, he can focus on the specific tooth to make the root canal. 
2. Then, your dentist will drill the tooth in order to reach canals and pulp chamber. He will use antibacterial and antiseptic solution for cleaning out the pulp chamber and infected root canals. In this way, he will remove the bacteria and infection.
3. The dentist will shape the canals first and then will put a filling. He will put strong cement to cover the canals. In this way, he would keep bacteria will be out and no infection occur anymore. 
4. In some cases, if the tooth is harshly impaired and does not support the restoration, the dentist will need to put a dental post in the root canal to support the tooth in this way. 
5. It is expected to have discomfort for a few days after root canal treatment. You may get pain killers or antibiotics by the doctor if you have pain.
6. Some cases may need to get dental crown if the tooth is significantly damaged. The crown (which can be metal based or zirconia) will be put on top of the tooth. It can support the root. Once you get the crown, your teeth can function normally and durable under chewing pressure.
